Product Overview

Traditional sour, salty umeboshi made exclusively with organically grown Nanko plums from Wakayama Prefecture. Established in 1940, Junzosen uses a recipe and craftsmanship passed down through four generations.

Features

  • Organic JAS certified, made with plums grown without relying on pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
  • Made with only organic plums and salt, with no added sweeteners or artificial seasonings.
  • Traditional salt pickling brings out the plums' pronounced sourness and savory flavor. Salt content is approximately 21%.
  • Sun-dried in a dedicated organic drying house under the summer sun, with carefully controlled drying for plump, soft flesh and thin skin.
  • Enjoy with freshly cooked rice, in onigiri rice balls, or with ochazuke.
