Product Overview

This 1/80-scale plastic kit recreates an L-type small locomotive, or switcher, used for small freight operations on private sidings and shunting at freight stations. The blue model has a small number of parts and a compact design that can be enjoyed after assembly without taking up much space.

Features

  • The body and underframe are molded in separate colors for straightforward assembly.
  • Designed for modelers ranging from beginners to experienced builders, including those starting with HO (No. 16) gauge models.
  • Can be combined with commercially available freight cars to create realistic railway scenes with short trains.
  • A separately purchased drive unit, such as the Tenshodo No. 05007 Coreless Power Truck 26P II with 10.5 mm diameter disc wheels, can be installed to motorize the model for HO (No. 16) gauge operation.
  • Includes newly developed knuckle-type couplers with a pivoting mechanism for coupling.
  • General-purpose coupler pockets allow replacement with commercially available couplers, such as KD couplers.

How to Use

Assembly and painting are required. Tools and paints must be purchased separately. This is a display model and cannot run on its own; motorized operation requires a separately purchased power truck or other drive unit and couplers.

Motorization may require adjustments depending on track conditions. Installation and modification must be carried out at the builder's own responsibility. Please do not contact Tenshodo regarding installation of the coreless power truck.
